Schools to honor athletes

Published on 5/13/2008

The Georgetown County School District is looking for all former all-state athletes and members of state championship teams from county high schools. This includes all former county high schools.

The District wants to honor those athletes who achieved all-state status or were members of state championship teams by placing photographs on the hallway wall at the J.B. Beck Administration and Education Center. "There is a rich tradition of athletics in this county and I want to honor those athletes so history can remember their outstanding accomplishments," said Superintendent Dr. Randy Dozier.

Individuals who have photos from their high school days, or yearbook photos, can have copies of those images placed in the hallway. If someone does not have a photo from high school, a photo can be taken at Beck and that image placed in the hallway.

Call 436-7172 for information or to schedule a photograph.
