Most Times poll participants say Sanford should resign

A majority of those who participated in a Georgetown Times poll say they feel Gov. Mark Sanford needs to step down.
The question — posted for a week on www.gtowntimes.com — was “should Gov. Mark Sanford resign now that he has admitted having an affair?”
A total of 57-percent of the respondents (258 votes) said “yes” he should resign.
Thirty-six percent (163 votes) said “no.”
Six-percent (30 votes) said “I don’t know.”
In the wake of Sanford’s new revelations that he met with his mistress more than he previously admitted and that he has had inappropriate relationships with other women, the new poll question is:
Do you think Gov. Sanford has now come clean about all of his adulterous affairs?
The poll question can be found on the home page of the Times Website, www.gtowntimes.com.

Why should Sanford resign? After all, he's already among most of the country's liars and cheaters (politicians).

I'm only one voice, but I think Sanford should resign. He has been hypocritical for years. A leader should be first and foremost, a person of morals and values. In addition, he should be able to run his own life successfully before he tries to be a leader to others.
