An 18-year-old Bayview man who allegedly molested a 10-year-old girl had to deal with the wrath of the girl’s mother before being arrested by police.
The alleged molestation occurred late Saturday night. The young girl told police she was walking home in Bayview when the suspect grabbed her by the left arm and forced her to the end of Park Street by the bay. That’s when he put his hands inside her clothing, the girl said.
She was able to get away and ran home and told her mother who found the suspect and punched him on the face. The man, in an attempt to get away, ran into the marsh where he remained until police arrived.
The officers removed the man from the marsh and placed him in handcuffs. After being interviewed, he was charged with kidnaping and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

My child would not be out by themselves period, some adult supervision will be with them at all times...to much crime is happening in the world today and there is not such thing as over protective anymore. That is just how parents have to be these days

i agree with comment 7.it is commendable of the mother to retaliate in her daughter's defense, but do people not watch the news anymore.children are being kidnapped out of there own homes.i have two teenage boys and there not aloud out of the house after dark unless i am with them.child molesters are'nt picky and they take advantage of every opportunity they get prey on our kids.lets keep them safe and not make foolish mistakes we'll regret later.god bless.

It truly irritates the $h!+ out of me that in 90% of cases of sexual abuse, molestation, or rape, some IDIOT wants to lay blame on ANYONE but the attacker! Wake the h3!! up!

For those crisizing the mother for letting the child be unescorted that late....have you considered she may have been to the next door neighbor's house or across the street which would make the critic look foolish.Get all the facts before you sound off.I know I'll never change your stance but I have this to sustain me...>never try to teach a pig to sing.It only annoys the pig and wastes your time

I'd have done more than punch him in the face.

I have to agree with the first response no child that age should have been walking that time of night. The results could have been worse. So the mother should be feeling guilty.

Why was a 10 year old girl (or boy) walking home alone without an adult in the first place. I commend the Mother for going after the trash that tried to hurt her little girl but it all could have been avoided. No child should be walking alone at 10 years old late on any Saturday night. This family is very lucky that something worse that assult did not occur. I hope this 18 year old get the max penlty for each charge. I pray your child will will recover from such trauma and be able to put it behind her very soon.
