Memorial service for Andrews High student is Thursday

A memorial service will be held Thursday at Andrews High School for a student who died in an automobile accident over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Robert Johnson, 16, died at about 9 a.m. Sunday from injuries he received in the accident that occurred early Saturday on U.S. 17-A in Berkeley County, said Berkeley County Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury.
Johnson was riding in a 2000 Mazda van. Neither Johnson nor the driver wore seat belts, police said. The driver was not seriously injured.
AHS Assistant Principal Leonard Nelson said Johnson was a sophomore and played defense on the school’s junior varsity football team.
“A lot of the students knew he was a quiet and reserved young man,” Nelson said. “His demeanor was somewhat business-like. He was well mannered and did what he was asked to do.”
Two extra guidance counselors were on hand at the school Monday to meet with grieving students.
Nelson said Thursday’s memorial will be held at 8 a.m.
Johnson’s funeral will take place Friday.

i never really knew you, but i seen you around all the time. you seemed really nice. & when we had that memorial at school, i couldn't help but get teary eyed. i wish god wouldv'e spared you your life, but he was ready for you to go home! to everyone that grieves over this loss, DON'T; he's in a better place where suffering is forbidden. the comfort of your memories WILL live on in our souls FOREVER! i'll/we'll see you in paradise lil man (kday).
