Update: Teenager killed in early morning accident

A teenager is dead as a result of a vehicle accident that occurred this morning in Georgetown County.
Assistant Coroner John Smith has identified the victim as 16-year-old Dillon Michael Cook of Calhoun Street in Kensington.
The one-vehicle happened at 5:41 a.m. on the gravel portion of Brick Chimney Road, according to the Highway Patrol.
Cook was a passenger in the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver, 18-year-old Jeremy Howdyshell of Georgetown, survived the accident, Highway Patrol spokesman Bob Beres said, adding Howdyshell was wearing a seat belt.
Beres said Howdyshell was driving a 1999 Honda SUV south on Brick Chimney Road when he fell asleep.
The vehicle ran off the road.
The crash is still  being investigated.
