The following reports were collected from Georgetown police and county deputies:
Bomb and shooting threat Georgetown police are looking for a man who allegedly called Wal Mart Thursday night saying he had “planted a device” inside the store. He also said there would be a drive-by shooting. The employee who took the call said it was the 3rd time he called that night. She said during the first call, he began making threats and she offered to get him help. He then started crying saying he needed some heroin or crack cocaine. His phone number was untraceable by the time police took over.
PDC arrest A 60-year-old Georgetown man was arrested after he was spotted by a police officer stumbling and falling in the roadway on Merriman Road Thursday night. The officer stopped to see if the man was OK and could tell he was highly intoxicated. He was yelling obscenities and screaming something about being on a jury. He was charged with public disorderly conduct.
Disorderly bank customer Police were called to Carolina First Bank on Front Street June 15 because of a disorderly customer. The officer report hearing a 62-year-old Georgetown man using profanity. The man, apparently intoxicated according to the officer, was warned twice to stop. He then cursed at the officer. As he was being arrested, he said he was mad because the bank refused to cash his check.
Threats at hospital Deputies were dispatched to Waccamaw Community Hospital June 16 because of threats between employees. Deputies met with two workers who said another employee has been having behavioral problems. They said the male employee called June 16 complaining about his work hours and conditions. As he continued to talk, he allegedly said one of his co-workers needed to be killed. Neither worker wanted to press charges.
Medicine theft A Georgetown woman said one of her friends drove her to the doctor then to get a prescription filled June 17. Afterwards, they returned to the victim’s house and her friend offered to help her clean. The complainant said after her friend left, she saw she was missing about 75 Oxycodone and 50 Xanax tablets. She said she believes her friend took the pills from her.

Some Georgetown County officials believe a disputed hurricane evacuation route will be in place within five years if private money pays for it.The $600 million to build the road will possibly be repaid to the private company by tolls placed on drivers. Will you use the road if tolls are collected?
