A Georgetown County deputy was uninjured but his patrol car was damaged when it was involved in a three-vehicle accident Sunday morning.
S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the accident happened at about 10 a.m. on the Waccamaw Bridge on Highway 17 at the Georgetown city limits.
He said a deputy was out of his vehicle on a call in the southbound lanes.
Collins said the blue lights were flashing on the patrol car when it was struck from behind by a car driven by Shari Cranford, 64, of Columbia, who was charged in connection with the accident.
Cranford's car was hit by another vehicle.
Two people from Cranford's vehicle and one person from the third vehicle were taken to the hospital but the injuries were not life threatening, Collins said.
