A 19-year-old is accused of beating his 16-year-old girlfriend. The teen who was crying met with a deputy at her school Sept. 23 and said he has been beating her up "a couple of times a week" since July.
The victim had bruises all over her body, the report states.
The first case of abuse occurred when the girl told her boyfriend she had kissed someone else and he slapped her.
Other abuse has included biting and over the weekend he pushed her against a rocking chair.
A warrant was signed for the arrest of the 19-year-old.
Sheriff's Office
* Investigators are looking into allegations a 13-year-old sexually assaulted his 3-year-old cousin.
Deputies met the mother of the little girl at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital emergency room Sept. 23. Doctors said they ran tests and found no signs of an assault.
The girl said she was at her aunt's house when the manual abuse occurred.
So far, no charges have been filed.
* While running a drug sniffing dog through the parking lot of Waccamaw High Sept. 22, the dog alerted on a Land Rover belonging to a 17-year-old female student.
After summoning the teen to the parking lot, deputies searched the vehicle and found a small bag of what is believed to be marijuana. She was given a ticket charging her with simple possession of marijuana and must appear in court Oct. 13.
* A salesman for Coastal Chevrolet in Pawleys Island was fired and faces criminal charges for allegedly forging a customer's name on an extended warranty and pocketing $420 the customer paid.
The ex-worker at first said he gave the money to an office worker but when he was reminded she stopped working at the dealership two weeks before the alleged incident, he changed his story.
* A burglary was reported at a rental home on Exeter Loop in Litchfield Sept. 24. Three television sets were taken from the house. It's believed entry was made through a sliding glass door.
* The owner of Amazing Blades Landscaping on Pistachio Loop in Murrells Inlet reported his storage building was burglarized Sept. 23.
A landscaping vehicle, valued at $30,000 was stolen. Several other pieces of equipment were also taken.
The only possible suspect named was a man who had been fired earlier in the month.
* While working the Andrews High football game Sept. 19, a deputy was informed an 18-year-old man who has outstanding drug warrants was in the stadium.
The deputy approached the suspect and told him he was under arrest. The man was searched and he had eight small bags of marijuana in his pocket. Along with the warrant charges, he was also charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
* An elderly McCants Avenue woman said she recently hired a 30-year-old man to help her around her house.
But after he started working she noticed things missing from her house.
The missing items include some rings, a change purse and a check book.
* A 44-year-old woman said she was driving on Rose Hill Road Sept. 21 when a 43-year-old Johnsonville man she knows tried to run her off the road with his truck.
She said after he rammed her rear bumper she pulled in a driveway and he drove up beside her and said he was going to kill her. He also allegedly called on the woman's cell phone and made more threats towards her and a man who was in her car.

...and just where are the parents of a 16-year-old girl who comes back from her dates bruised and bitten? Something is very wrong when that much abuse occurs over such a long period of time and no one cares enough to notice or do anything to try to stop it. Posted by Lola on 10/13/2008

(Andrews High Football Game) After moving to a bigger city (Charlotte), I've been involve with lots of security (Sheriff) matters that involve but not limited to high school football games. The recent incident that happened with the young man getting gun down in the street should be a red flag to law enforcement in the area. Georgetown County should enforce a pat down at each game. With the marijuana being found on the person on school ground is scary. Drug leads to crime, crime leads to violence, and violence leads to murder. Andrews don’t need anymore of that. Law Enforcement, step up to the plate before it’s too late, again. (Big Damm, be safe ) Posted by C. Davis on 10/4/2008
