The Bay — a thriller filmed in Georgetown in 2010 — is set for theatrical release tomorrow.
But, it will not be coming to a theater near you.
The film — directed by Barry Levinson — is being distributed by Roadside Productions and is being released in only 28 theaters across the country, according to movie Website Fandango.
The closest states to South Carolina it is being shown starting Friday are Florida and Kentucky.
But, the movie can still be seen locally. It is being released on Friday on Pay Per View, available to most cable and satellite customers. It will also be available for download from Itunes.
Many local residents were used as extras in the film which was produced by Paranormal Activity producer Oren Peli.
The movie tells the story of the residents of a seaside Maryland community become the unfortunate hosts of mutant, waterborne parasites that take control of their minds and bodies.
