Father Pat and Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church on Waverly Road in Pawleys Island hosted the Tastes at Pawleys this past Sunday between 4 and 8 p.m.

The food was wonderful, and I am certain that a great deal of money was raised for local charities.

Executive Chef Adam Kirby had a Seared Georgia Banks Scallop on top of a Basil Pesto Risotto with a Lobster Carrot Reduction with shavings of Parmesan Reggiano cheese that was terrific.

Steve Perrone had Rare Beef on top of a Baguette with Blue Cheese, which also was a favorite.

Captain John's Seafood Bisque with Shrimp and Scallops was another big hit.

The Baby Back Ribs and Shrimp and Red Rice from the South Island Steak House were tremendously popular -- the taste was superb, as were the lamb chops from Austin's.

Executive Chef Eddie Chacon from Rocco's had wonderful Chicken Legs. Executive Chef Ernest Bledsoe from Pawleys Plantation had Fried Goat Cheese and Salad and Short Ribs of Beef that I could have had a lot of -- they were great.

The dumplings and shumai from Emi's were wonderful.

There were quite a few desserts which I am certain deserve mentioning but I did not try them.

Everyone had a good time. You could not help but look at the other trays loaded with foods that were savored.
