The following reports were collected from the Georegtown Police Department and County Sheriff's Office.
Strange texts
A Pawleys Island woman notified authorities about "strange text messages" she received on her phone.
In the first messgae, the sender said he was in the mood for sex and wanted to know if the woman felt the same.
She immediately sent a text back asking the sender to identify himself. After he did, she responded by letting him know he sent the message to the wrong number.
A short while latter, she received another text stating "I want you."
Another stated "I want you beautiful. You know me. I want one last shot with you."
After the woman again told him to send no more messages, he sent a picture of his private parts to her phone.
When the woman's husband called the suspect, he said it must have been his son sending the messages.
After that, no more texts were received.
Shoplifter caught
A man was caught in the act of shoplifting at the North Fraser Street Food Lion May 8.
A worker said he saw the 58-year-old Georgetown man stuff a pack of steaks in his shirt and he then tried to leave the store.
He was held by workers until police arrived. They retrieved the meat but it could not be sold.
The man was taken to jail.
Brick attack
A man who lives on Palm Street was in bed at about 11:10 p.m. May 12 when a brick shattered his window and landed on inside the house.
Police say there was glass all over the man's bed.
The man said he has not been having any problems with anyone and has no idea who would do such a thing.
Officers canvassed the area but no suspects were found.
"Whole lot of dope"
Georgetown police were asked to escort the department's drug dog to a traffic stop made by the Organized Crime Bureau on Church Street Saturday night.
As the dog approached the vehicle he displayed a "noticeable change in behavior."
The driver was then patted down and the officer felt a "bulge" in his right pocket. The man was asked what was inside his pocket.
"A whole lot of dope," he reportedly responded.
Several small bags of marijauna were removed from his pocket and the 22-year-old man was taken to jail.
Shoe theft
A worker at the CVS at Five Points reported a theft Sunday. She said three juveniles walked in the store and took two pairs of shoes. She said two of the teens took their shoes off and put the new shoes on and walked out.
They also took a hearing aid before they left.
The whole thing was recorded on the store's security cameras. Because of that, the teens were located and arrested.
Dog attack
A 42-year-old Duke Street man was attcked by a pit bull but he gave two conflicting stories about how the incident occurred.
Police responed to a call of a fight in progress Saturday morning. When they arrived, they saw the man had scratch marks on his chest and his face was swollen.
He said a man with a pit bull allowed the dog to attack him.
After other officers were notified to be on the lookout for the man with the dog, the victim changed his story.
He said there was a dog fight and he was attacked by one of the dogs when he tried to break it up.
He refused to cooperate, so the case was closed.
Urine vandalism
A Prince Street woman called police Saturday to report her white pickup truck had been vandalized.
She showed officers a "yellow substance" that had been "spilled" on the vehicle.
"Upon looking at the vehicle I saw what appeared to be urine on the sides of the hood," the officer wrote.
No suspect was found.
