Mother leaves toddler in Columbia gas station, calls police from Andrews

A Charlotte woman was driving to Georgetown with her three children -- including her 2-year-old -- Friday but she left the toddler in Columbia and didn't notice the child was missing until she got to Andrews.

The 27-year-old woman called Georgetown County deputies to meet her in Andrews and she told them the last time she checked on her daughter was when they were in Rock Hill.

She said when she stopped to get gas as a station in Columbia, she thought her daughter was still asleep in the back seat with her other two children.

"She noticed the child was missing when she got to Andrews," the report states.

Local authorities contacted the Richland County Sheriff's Office and were told they had the toddler at their office.

The little girl left the car while her mother was pumping gas and had walked inside the store.

The clerk at the Columbia gas station saw the girl after her mother drove away.

The woman drove back to Columbia to pick up her daughter.

* The owner of a boat docked at Litchfield Plantation Marina said the vessel was burglarized sometime between Sept. 5 and Oct. 1.

The owner of the 35-foot cabin cruiser, who lives in North Carolina, talked to a deputy over the phone and said he was advised about the break-in by an employee of the marina.

A glass on a door of the boat was broken.

Since the owner was unable to inspect the boat, it's unknown if anything was stolen.

* The driver of a taxi said he drove a man to Murrells Inlet Oct. 4 and when they arrived at their destination, the man jumped out the cab and ran in the woods without paying his fare.

The driver, who picked the man up in Socastee, is owed $35.

* A man ordered about $10 worth of food from the Pawleys Island McDonald's Oct. 4 and tried to pay with a $100 bill.

When he was informed the restaurant could not accept the bill, he quickly exited the building after saying he would be back. He said he had to go to the bank but he left the $100 bill on the counter.

The bill was tested. It was determined it was counterfeit.

* Several units at Murrells Inlet Mini Storage on Highway 17 Bypass were broken into Sept. 29.

The suspect made entry to 26 units by prying a fence back and then cutting the locks.

More than $5,000 worth of items were taken from several renters of the storage spaces.

* Two houses under construction on Summerwind Loop in Murrells Inlet were broken into Sept. 30. An over-the-range microwave oven was taken from one of the houses.

The thief attempted to take a microwave which was still in the box. It was taken from the other house but it was left in the garage area.

Andrews Police

* A man from Country Court reported a break-in at his home Oct. 1. He said when he arrived home he saw the change he usually keeps on a table was missing.

He then saw his back door had been pried open.

There are no suspects.

* A 42-year-old woman said she was threatened by a 30-year-old woman.

The complainant said she borrowed $100 from the suspect's mother a few weeks ago and on Oct. 1, the suspect called the alleged victim asking when the money would be repaid.

The complainant said it was none of her business since the money was borrowed from the woman's mother.

The woman reportedly responded by saying "if you can't come up with my mother's money by Friday, I will have to take other measures."

This, the complainant said, was a threat.

there is no way that you were locked up for a dirty car seat there must be something that story that you are leaving out there is no way that a childs car seat can stay clean after a couple of trips to the store with your child children get dirty along with thier clothes, toys, and car seats i believe that either that cop had it out for you or you are holding back

are you serious? you were put in jail for a dirty car seat? c'mon, there's more to it than what you're telling. no self respecting police officer or judge would put a mother in jail for a carseat that needs a little vacuuming. get real!

I can't believe no criminal charges have been filed against the mother who left her kid in Rock Hill and did'nt realize she was missing til she got to Andrews.Which by the way is about two hours down the road.Hello she ain't the only single mother with a few kids and a couple being toddlers. There's one year between my boys and when they were toddlers {both in diapers and on the bottle}wherever I went or stopped I always made sure both were in there car seats and secure.I don't understand how she was not charged with child neglect or at least endangerment. How do a mother not know her kid is gone until two hours after the fact? Was she given a drug test?I can tell you by experience I was put in jail and my kids took for alot less serious charge. Also I was found not guilty. My kids were took because of a slightly dirty car seat.I had to spend five days and four nights in jail. Not to mention not knowing where my kids were and who had them. All I was guilty of was not vaccumming out a car seat.Tell me where's the injustice in this?No charges filed?Give me a break what is her family wealthy or something?
