More than $3,100 in guns and electronics were reported stolen from an apartment on Indigo Avenue June 28. The owner said eight guns, an Xbox 360, a Playstation 2 and five games were taken.

The victim said an 18-year-old neighbor had been at his apartment earlier in the day, and after the thefts were discovered he was unable to make contact with him.

Police later learned five of the guns had been pawned at a local pawn shop by an 18-year-old Maryville man. An employee said the Maryville man was with a man fitting the description of the other 18-year-old suspect, who later admitted to the thefts.

He was arrested for grand larceny.

* A Georgetown woman said her 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was stolen by a 32-year-old man from Nesmith who was later arrested for DUI.

The incident occurred after midnight June 28. The 27-year-old woman said her vehicle was in the parking lot of Schooner's Bar and Grill on Church Street when it was taken. She said the keys were in the vehicle, but she locked the doors with a keyless remote.

She also said she does not know the man who took her car.

Because the man who was arrested could not tell police who the vehicle belonged to, it was towed. The man never confessed to the theft but admitted he did not know the owner.

* Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Wood Street late June 28 because of a man who was bleeding and banging on someone's door saying someone was trying to kill him.

When officers arrived, they saw the man had been hit with something because his face was bloody and he had knots on his head. While talking with him, police were notified another man had been assaulted in the 900 block of Duke Street.

It was learned the man on Wood Street and the man on Duke Street are roommates. Police say their apartment was littered with broken beer bottles. Reportedly, the two men were drinking and got into a fight because one of them was singing too loud with a karaoke machine.

The two men were transported to the hospital, where police tried to interview them. They were unable to figure out who actually started the fight, although one of the men said the other started it because he wanted to drink Corona beer rather than Budweiser. No charges were filed.

* A 59-year-old Mount Pleasant woman was arrested after shouting racial slurs and causing a disturbance at Oasis Residential Home on Prince Street Monday evening.

The woman -- whose mother is a resident of the facility -- told staff she wanted her mother removed from the property because she has a broken hip. When she was informed her mother is in the care of the state, the woman began yelling that she wanted her "away from these (racial slur)." She said she wanted her mother transferred to "a white nursing home."

When police arrived, they took the woman outside and asked her to leave the property; however, she continued to turn around and make racial remarks about the staff and residents.

Because she disobeyed orders to calm down, she was arrested for disorderly conduct.

* Two crab baskets were reported stolen from a boat parked in front of a house on King Street. The owner said the last time he saw the baskets was on June 26. He noticed them missing four days later. He also is missing about $10 in vegetables that had been growing in his yard.

An 18-year-old Murrells Inlet woman who was found wandering through the woods behind her home wearing a bathrobe Saturday afternoon was suffering from a medical condition, according to her parents.

The woman said when she got out of the shower she heard voices, and when she yelled the people ran out the door.

She said she chased the people through the woods for about 45 minutes.

After the woods were searched and no one was found, deputies talked to the woman's father, who said she is bipolar and did not take her medicine. It is believed she was having hallucinations.

She agreed to go to the hospital for an evaluation.

* A 45-year-old Conway woman who tried to find love at www.match.com said she was uncomfortable when she met her date for the first time in person.

The woman said she and the 46-year-old man agreed to meet at the Litchfield Inn Sunday evening. She arrived and met the man in one of the units and she immediately began to get worried because -- right off the bat -- he "began to profess his love for her and requested she love him back," the report states.

As the man continued his "unsolicited advances" he placed his hands on the woman's chest. That's when the woman said she was leaving and ran from the room.

She later returned to the room with a security officer to retrieve her wallet, which she had left behind. The man refused to open the door and give her the wallet.

By the time deputies arrived, the man was intoxicated. He could not answer simple questions and denied any inappropriate touching occurred.

He was ordered to give the woman her wallet, which he did. He also was warned to have no further contact with the woman.

Why would she meet him in a hotel room? DUH! When meeting a stranger for the first time, a public place would be the safest alternative, not to mention, bringing a friend along. Talk about naive'!
