A man working to collect information for the U.S. Census said he was threatened by a boy with a gun.
The man said he was collecting data on Midway Street in Georgetown Monday afternoon when he walked in to a yard with a 6-year-old child in front.
He said the child told him his brother was going to “pop” him.
The man walked to the door and was met by a child who appeared to be 8 or 9 who was holding what appeared to be a rifle and pounding his chest, the report states.
He said he proceeded to ask the child’s mother the questions and as he was walking away he heard the gun discharge. He said he tried to talk to the child’s mother but she “seemed unconcerned about what he just did,” the man said.
A neighbor told the worker he has had problems with the child shooting his bird feeder and shooting out windows.
The woman told a deputy it was a pellet rifle and her son is responsible with it.
She promised she and her husband would take care of the problem when he got home from work.

Possible predator

A woman visiting Wachesaw Plantation with her family said a suspicious man was watching and following her three daughters Sunday afternoon.
She said her children noticed the man following them as they walked home from the community swimming pool.
The man — driving a white pickup with “ground effect blue lights” — was stopped by a deputy and said he was looking for his brother who was in the weight room.
He denied following the girls.
The man’s father walked up and agreed with his story.
The mother of the girls said he had been watching her daughters all day.
The man was advised to stay away from the family.

Found handgun

A roomkeeper at the Holiday Inn Express said she found a handgun in a dresser drawer while cleaning May 3.
The gun, according to the deputy, was fully loaded.
The report does not state if charges were filed.

Long distance abuse?

A 47-year-old “highly intoxicated” Pawleys Island woman called 911 May 2 and said she had been attacked by her husband.
When EMS arrived, the woman refused treatment.
Deputies tried to talk with her but she was unable to complete a sentence because of her intoxication.
The officers then searched for her husband but he was not located. But, there was a god reason.
He was in Kentucky where he had been for two weeks.
