One of three men charged with robbing a Dominos Pizza driver pled guilty to the crime in court last week.
Troy Tremaine Robinson, 24, admitted to the charge of armed robbery and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by Circuit Court Judge Edward Miller.
The two other men charged with the robbery are Michael Omar Belin, 19 and Eric Anthony Simmons, 22. Their cases are pending.
The robbery occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2010 outside a home on Elm Street in Bayview. The driver told police when he arrived near Bayview Park he was approached by two men, one armed with a handgun.
Robinson is believed to be the one who was holding the gun, according to statements made during Thursday’s hearing. After the driver was able to get the gun from the men, they got away on foot with the pizza and $40 in cash, police say.
A witness told police they saw the suspects run into a house on Bayview Drive.
When police searched the house, they found two Domino’s boxes as well as two boxes of cheese bread from the same restaurant. The three were arrested inside the house.
Police said all three came up with the robbery plan but one waited at the house while the other two committed the crime.
Before being sentenced Robinson said he was sorry and he would “never do anything like this again.”
