FUNERAL SERVICES
Betty Cooper
Betty Skipper Cooper, 76, of Georgetown, S.C. passed away on August 31, 2012, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mrs. Cooper was born on September 8, 1935, in Neeses, S.C.
She was the daughter of the late George Leo Skipper and Omitt Walters Skipper.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Seniors Sunday School class.
She loved to read, and enjoyed cross word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Keith “Skippy” Branham (Pam) and Jack B. Coker, Jr. both of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Winston Chase Downing, Matthew Skipper Branham, Jack B. “Trey” Coker III, and Kelby Drew Branham, all of Georgetown; two sisters, Alberta S. Bratcher of Georgetown, Wyllene Skipper of Hot Springs, N.C.; and two brothers, William E. Skipper (Mary) of Georgetown and Thomas E. Skipper (Joyce) of Andrews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Jack B. Coker Sr. and William Eugene Cooper; and two sisters, Myrtle S. Price and Mary S. Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Georgetown, with the Rev. Mr. Lonnie Brazell, Rev. Mr. Clide Glover, Rev. Mr. Billy Miles and Rev. Ms. Wyllene Skipper officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Mary Scharlau
Mary Virginia McKay Scharlau, 71, the wife of Elwin “Dutch” Scharlau of 57 years, passed away on August 31, 2012 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on December 11, 1940, in Hollywood, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur McKay and Olive McKay.
Mrs. Scharlau attended the United Methodist Church in Medina, N.Y.
She was a retired CNA for the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in New York.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Scharlau (Annette) and David Scharlau, both of Georgetown; two daughters Melody Sturkie (Charles) of Georgetown and Dawn Breed (Roger) of Tampa, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Haley Scharlau, Phillip Breed, Adam Breed, Stephanie Scharlau, Amber Miller, Cody Ruthowski, Mindy Edge and Joel Edge.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Scharlau.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Graham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Graham Funeral Home.
