Myrtle Moultrie
Wilds Funeral Home announces that funeral services for Myrtle Point Moultrie will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs, Moultrie was born on January 13, 1929 in Pawleys Island, S.C.
Her parents, Lucille Hamilton and Henry Gibbs, preceded her in death.
She attended Georgetown County public schools.
She married James Moultrie Sr. in 1945 and they shared life and love until James departed this life on April 4, 2012.
Myrtle loved to knit, sew, cook, garden and take care of family. She traveled with her husband during his overseas tours and at the end of those tours, in the late 1970's they returned to Aberdeen, Maryland to be near one of their sons and other siblings.
In 2005 the family moved back to Pawleys Island, S.C.
After her husband’s death Myrtle returned to Taneytown, Md. where she resided with her son and daughter-in-law until her death on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
Surviving are two sons, Jerome Douglas Moultrie of Columbia, S.C., James Moultrie Jr. and his wife Claudia of Taneytown, Md.; two brothers, Isaac Hamilton Jr., Columbia, S.C., Norman Hamilton of Georgetown, S.C.; one sister; Helen McCleod of Syracuse, N.Y., ; seven grandchildren, Jerome Moultrie Jr. and Janet Moultrie of Atlanta, Ga., Jonise Mitchell of Columbia, S.C., Corey James Moultrie of New Freedom, Pa., Teresa Moultrie Gillis of Taneytown, Md., Jeffrey Moultrie of Virginia and Monique Davis of Washington, D.C.; 19 great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Mary Point of Pawleys Island, S.C.; a special niece Sylvia Moultrie Gardener of Georgetown, S.C.
