Samuel Graham Jr.

Samuel Walter Graham Jr., 76, of Marion and of Murrells Inlet, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 from Antioch Baptist Church of Aynor with the Rev. Chris Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at the funeral home. Mr. Graham was born in Horry County, a son of the late Samuel Walter Graham Sr. and Issie Jane Martin Graham.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Floyd Graham; five brothers, Lowry, James, Malcolm, Brunson, and Emery Graham; and three sisters, Mamie G. Rabon, Christine G. Johnson, and Jaunita Graham. Mr. Graham was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by: his wife, Rebecca Thomas Graham of Marion; one stepdaughter, Jackie Carroll (William) of Aynor; three step-grandchildren, William Ray Carroll, Houston Thomas Carroll, and Charles Marshall Carroll; one sister, Irene Graham Smith of Mullins; one foster brother, David Butler of Georgetown; eight sisters-in-law, Mary Faulk McMillian, Nelson Faulk Fowler, Linda Faulk, Irene Graham, Georgeanna Graham, Estelle Graham, Johnnie Mae Timmons, and Sara Whitner; and one brother-in-law, Stacey Faulk.

Memorials may be sent to the church of one's choice.

Sharode Grayson

Sharode Grayson, 33, of Hanahan, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008 at his home.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Open Bible Tabernacle in the North Santee community with Elder David Lee Grayson officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home.

A wake was held from 6 to 7 p.m.. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at the Walter S. Fraser Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Grayson was a son of Henry Grayson and Queen Grayson. He was born Dec. 19, 1974 in Georgetown County. He was a member of Open Bible Tabernacle and later joined the Ministries of Restoration in Charleston.

Surviving are: his wife, Ivy Grayson of Hanahan; his daughter, Triniti G. Grayson of Hanahan; his parents; two brothers, Henry C. Grayson and Delvaka Grayson; and two sisters, Joan Taylor and Coretta Sanders.

Frances S. Haynie

Frances S. "Auntie" Haynie, 84, of McClellanville, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. in New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Dr. Walter Cook. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in McClellanville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Haynie was born March 4, 1924 in McClellanville, a daughter of the late George Lincoln Sutler and the late Lucille Harris Sutler.

She was employed with Georgetown Memorial Hospital for a number of years and later was employed with Ralph Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Charleston until her retirement. She was a member of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: one son, Edward Thomas "Ned" Haynie III of McClellanville; one brother, Neal McLaurin "Larry" Sutler (Patsy) of Mt. Pleasant; one aunt, Dorothy G. Jeffords of Florence; two nieces; two nephews; two grand-nieces and five grand-nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Thomas Haynie Jr. and a son, George Sutler Haynie.

John E. Jardel

John Edward Jardel, 75, of Murrells Inlet, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008.

Arrangements will be announced by Hardwick Funeral Home of Loris.

Brittie C. Jordan

Brittie C. Jordan, 86, of Conway, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with the Rev. Ronald Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Sam and Ellen Jordan Cox. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Jordan was predeceased by her husband, George E. Jordan; children, Lonnie, Margie, George Jr., Marilyn, and Ruby; brothers, Hubbert Cox and Homer Cox; and a sister, Sadie Coats.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by: six daughters, Shirley Dew (Henry) of Montmorenci, Barbara Franks (Henry) of Aiken, Ruth Hardee (Henry) of Conway, Carolyn Jordan of Conway, Brenda Small (Nelson) of Georgetown, and Loretta Jordan of Conway; four sons, Donald Jordan (Sue) of Conway, Bryant Jordan of Jacksonville, Fla., James Jordan (Joyce) of Augusta, Ga., and Wayne Jordan (Beth) of Myrtle Beach; 34 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Dorothy C. O'Quinn

Dorothy C. O'Quinn, 84, of Pawleys Island, widow of Donald H. O'Quinn Sr., died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at Myrtle Beach Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel in Bluffton, with burial in the Bluffton Cemetery.

Mrs. O'Quinn was born in Augusta, Ga. on Feb. 9, 1924. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Mrs. O'Quinn and her husband were leaders in setting up rights for special care children in the State of South Carolina.

She is survived by her son, Donald H. O'Quinn Jr. of Swainsboro, Ga.; two sisters, Iris Faye Hyatt of Hilton Head Island and Mary Anne Davis of Martinez, Ga.; two brothers, Marty Clayton Colleran of Bluffton and Bobby Carrol Colleran of Rockaway Point, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, and three sons, Michael Stanley, Mark Joseph and David Colleran O'Quinn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Bluffton Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 2156, Bluffton, SC 29910.

Robert F. Paulsen

Robert F. "Rip" Paulsen, 81, of Georgetown, formerly of Garden City Beach, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 in Prince George Health Care.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Aug. 18, 2008 in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Crawford Crenshaw. Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, N.C. Sign a guestbook at www.cumbyfuneral.com.

Mr. Paulsen was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Mount Vernon, N.Y., a son of Ralph I. and Ann Hepp Paulsen. He married the former Delpine Braswell, of Garden City, June 27, 1969.

He worked for the telephone company in Westchester County, N.Y. for a number of years. In 1969, he moved to Myrtle Beach where he owned and operated the Golden Sands Motel. He moved to Orangeburg in 1970, where he operated the Town Terrace Inn for 10 years, and in 1980 he retired to Garden City.

He was also a veteran of World War II. He loved golfing and was a longtime member of Myrtlewood Golf Club and the Myrtlewood seniors.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: a son, Robert J. Paulsen (Rosalie) of Ossing, N.Y.; a sister, Pat Paulsen of Arlington, Va.; and two nieces.

Harry P. Richardson

Harry Preston Richardson, 84, of Hemingway, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 in a Florence hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 in the Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008.

Mr. Richardson was born in Marion, a son of the late Ruby Lee and Anna Wallace Richardson. He was a retired department superintendent for Wellman Industries and farmer, a member of the Old Johnsonville United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the American Legion, and attended Brittons Neck schools.

Surviving are: his wife, Sara Cox Richardson of the home; children, Ramona R. Parker (Danny) of Hemingway and Stephen Richardson (Debbie) of Darling; grandchildren, Scott Powers of Columbia, Jayson Powers (Brooke) of Little River; Jennifer R. Lee (David) of Aynor and Jenny Ponton of Clover; great-grandchildren, Brayden Powers of Little River, Madison lee of Aynor and Kayla and Tyler Ponton, both of Clover; sisters, Martha Collins of Johnsonville and Edith R. Ard of Lakeland, Fla.; and a brother, Marvin Richardson (Paula) of Cocoa, Fla.

Memorials may be made to the Carolina Hospice in Florence.

Frederick L. Smith

Frederick L. Smith, 39, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at the Walter S. Fraser Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jesse Marshall officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until time of services. McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, a son of Mrs. Marjorie Smith and the late Samuel Smith, was born Sept. 16, 1968 in Newark, N.J. He received his education in the public schools of New Jersey and was a member of Life Changing Ministries.

Surviving are: two children, Taiwanna Young and Marques Young Smith, both of Georgetown; his mother, Marjorie Smithy of Pawleys Island; a step-daughter, Sabrina Young; two brothers, Anthony Smith of Aynor and Samuel Smith of Pawleys Island; and one sister, Cynthia Smith of New Jersey.

Antonio A. Tisdale

Antonio A. "Billy" Tisdale, 22, of Andrews, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon AME Church, with the Rev. Wallace J. McKnight Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tisdale was born Dec. 8, 1985 in Georgetown, a son of Micheal and Barbara Tisdale Mitchum. He attended Georgetown County schools and was employed by Litchfield Golf and Resort.

Survivors include: his parents of Andrews; his son, Elijah A. Tisdale of Andrews; one sisters, Shadea M. Mitchum of Andrews; three brothers, Jamal M. Mitchum, Dawayne Richardson of Andrews, and Kyle Wilson of Turbeville; his grandparents, Herman Tisdale and Thelma G. Mitchum of Andrews and Issac Mitchum of Manning; and the mother of his son, Selina Wallace of Andrews.

Felicia Williams

Felicia Williams, 29, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Nesmith-Pinckney Funeral Home of Hemingway. The family is receiving friends at 69 Coakley St. in Hemingway.

Geneva R. Williams

Geneva Rice Williams, 80, of Conway, died in Columbia on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2008 at The Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Conway, with burial in the Sandridge Community Cemetery.

A wake service was held Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008 at Reid Chapel AME Church in Columbia.

McKiever Funeral Home of Conway is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams was the youngest child born to the late Samuel and Lula Rice of Georgetown County. She was a member of Hemingway Chapel AME Church in Conway. For the past three years she lived in Columbia with her daughter and was a member of the Reid Chapel AME Church. She attended the Palmetto Senior Day Care facility in White Rock.

Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Williams Sr., and three children, Eugene, Vernell and Eugene Jr.

Survivors are: three daughters, Genevieve Alford (James) of Conway, Christine Williams of Irvington, N.J., and Vermell Salley (Michael) of Columbia; two sons, Iva Lee Williams (Linda) of Conway and Randy E. Williams of Romulus, Mich.; 1 god-mother, Channie Lee Adams and a god-daughter, Edna Dewitt (Wilbur); two sisters, Agnes Darby at Prince George Nursing Home in Georgetown and Lila Myers of Hamden, Conn.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Randall Williamson

Randall Williamson, 55, of Myrtle Beach, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.

Mr. Williamson was born Oct. 17, 1952. He was a mechanical engineer superintendent for McMahon Mechanical and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Vander Williamson and Nina Williamson.

Survivors include: his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Heather, Marie and Kristen Williamson; three grandchildren, Jessica Curtiss, Travis Robertson and Emmerson Veitch; one great-grandchild, D. H. Littlewood; five brothers, Richard, Thomas, Harold, Johnny and Dale; three sisters, Joanne Martin, Hilda Winburn, and Sylvia Hucks.
