Morning stabbing results in arrest

A 30-year-old Georgetown man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that took place Thursday morning.
Reginald Funnye, of 963 David W. Ray Road, is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center, according to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.
Deputies were sent to 209 Haven Drive in Green Acres at about 11:30 a.m. and found the 23-year-old victim who had been stabbed once in his lower abdomen.
Cuthbertson said when officers arrived, Funnye fled on foot but was found a short time later and was taken into custody.
The stabbing took place during an altercation between Funnye and the victim, Cuthbertson said.
Funnye has been charged with attempted murder and burglary.
