The Sheriff’s Office has released new information about the armed robbery of the Murrells Inlet Kangaroo convenience store we reported last night.
According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson, at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, a man, armed with a handgun, walked into the store at the corner of Highway 17 Bypass and Highway 707.
He demanded money from the employee.
“The suspect is described as an older white male with a scruffy beard who was wearing a navy blue ski mask, long sleeve camouflage shirt, blue jeans and army boots,” Cuthbertson said. “(He) exited through the front door and fled on foot around the south side of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.”
The Sheriff’s Bloodhound Tracking Team responded to the scene and led handlers to Briggs Street off of Wilcox Avenue where the bloodhounds lost the trail.
Anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information about the robbery is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5102.
