A 67-year-old Georgetown man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred Thursday evening at a home on Kent Road in the Sampit community.

The incident, according to a police report, began when Bobby Zurcher, also known as John, went to the home of his ex-girlfriend and started harassing her. He was very intoxicated, wanted to fight and was holding a knife, screaming "I'm gonna kill you all," the report states.

The woman's nephew, Shane Walters, reportedly rushed to her defense, which resulted in a fight between him and Zurcher. During the fight, Zurcher allegedly stabbed Walters repeatedly in both legs and then left the property.

Walters was rushed to the hospital and required 43 stitches, according to the Sheriff's Office. His mother said she saw the fight and gave the same account.

Zurcher was located at his residence and was charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
