It is sad that the naive among us think that more laws will prevent the mass shootings.
The capital murder charge that would have been facing the killer didn’t deter him, the thought of losing his life didn’t change his mind, how would a simple gun law? Neither the color of his gun nor the amount of bullets that it held would have made a difference. They will use fertilizer and diesel fuel, knives and planes. It’s not the guns.
Comparing the guns that the military and police use to the guns used in the recent killings is also factually incorrect. The so called “assault weapons” that you and I (and the killer) can buy at our local gun shops bear only cosmetic similarities to those used to “lay down a base of fire” and an old infantryman knows this. Our “assault weapons” are not fully automatic. What is the difference between a deranged killer with a 30 round clip in one gun and a deranged killer with a sack full of guns, each able to shoot 10 times?
Guns are here to stay. People with mental illness will always be among us. The problem that we have is how to keep the two apart.
When we do not address the videos that teach emotionally unstable kids how to kill, rewarding the most kills and the bloodiest scenes with prizes, we can never win this battle.
We take God out of the schools and then we wonder why kids commit Godless acts. We publicly condone the killing of unborn children as an “inconvenience” and we wonder why kids don’t respect life — and this is the government that we expect to fix this problem?
We all know that the only result will be that the law-abiding citizens will be encumbered from protecting themselves from the lawless.
Obama’s Chief of Staff made the statement “Never let a tragedy go to waste …” This tragedy will be used to advance his previous anti-gun agenda that he has been quietly advancing behind the scenes, hidden from the public with the help of the mainstream media, the only light being shown on it coming from the NRA.
I know that some are saying, “My God! How can he make this a political issue?” Never let yourselves be fooled that this is anything but political. Example? Cigarettes kill thousands more people every year than guns. Where is the uproar of your politicians? The donations of the tobacco lobby to the politicians is strong and cigarette taxes are high.
Hang on fellow gun owners, it’s going to be a rough ride.

The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending lowering the legal blood alcohol content limit for drivers from .08 percent to .05 percent. They say it will decrease the number of traffic fatalities. Do you agree with this idea?
