A safe Fourth
As American adults sport the red, white and blue for Fourth of July celebrations, Better Brands, Inc. reminds them to demonstrate true American spirit by being a designated driver or skipper. You'll join the nearly two out of three adults - 137 million Americans - who have either been a designated driver or been driven home by one.
If you don't have a designated driver or skipper, call a taxicab, friend or family member. Being responsible may save your life and the lives of others. Remember, if you're under 21, it's illegal to purchase or consume alcohol beverages.
This holiday, weekend, demonstrate your true American spirit by looking out for family and friends and helping to make sure everyone has a safe, fun holiday. Remember, Responsibility Matters!
Brenda Spadoni, CEO, Better Brands, Inc.
Thanks For Well Done Job
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Georgetown County Parks and Recreation Commission personnel for their timely solving of the flooding problem in the parking lot at East Bay Park.
I am sure that the locals who use the park's facilities and vendors and customers at the Farmer's Market on Saturday would agree with me that it is a job well done.
You continue to be a hard-working group that is a benefit to the citizens of Georgetown County.
The crowds at the two Farmer's Markets are continuing to grow and those of you who haven't taken advantage of either the Pawleys Island market on Wednesday or the Georgetown Farmer's Market on Saturday are missing a wonderful opportunity.
Ed Brower, Publicity Chairman, Georgetown Lions Club
Thanks from Teach My People
The Board, the staff and the children of Teach My People would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the businesses and individuals that sponsored and or played in this year's Pawleys Island Youth Cup.
This golf tournament helps Teach My People fund our after school program and eight week summer program of learning and adventure for the 100 children that participate.
We would also like to thank Kevin Williamson and the staff at The Tradition Club for making this year's tournaments one of our best ever.
Lastly, we would like to offer a special thank you to The Myrtle Beach National Company for their support of this tournament.
They once again provided the course for us to use, our brochures, the free rounds all sponsors and golfers received, Nike golf shirts for all players and dinner.
Their generosity has enabled us to raise over $25,000.
Again, we thank everyone your generous support of this worthwhile event.
Carl Falk. Teach My People Board of Directors - Chairman
