Now that the election is over, we can look at some other topics for our state. I know Jim Watkins and Mojo are happy about the election. In his last letter, Jim failed to mention Mojo was getting some of his ideas from my two labs, Tank and Jeep. It did not bother Tank and Jeep that much because they are happy with the petition that is starting here in South Carolina. They are speaking of the secession petition that is here in the state. They need 25,000 signatures in 30 days to send it to the White House for consideration.
Tank and I hope that if we secede that we get a new and better postal system than we have now. As a stamp collector, I can start a new collection of the stamps that we will be issuing.
Jeep, who is the more peaceful one, is looking forward to having all of the military equipment that belongs to the United States government being moved out of the state. We will then have lots of open areas we can use. There would be lots of land where Fort Jackson is to plant crops and give a boost to our agriculture industry.
Of course, it will not be easy running our own country. We will need to secure our borders. We will have to watch that no illegal immigrants from New York or New Jersey sneak in to take jobs from our residents. There will be lots of new jobs for our S.C. border patrol.
Having watched this past year what a great job our governor and legislature did running our elections, there should be no problem having them set up our new government when we secede. I do admit that state taxes may have to be raised, but we will not have to pay federal taxes. It should even out if we are careful.
So search out the petitions and get your name on them. We can be independent. We no longer will have to listen to Washington. Our senators and representatives can come home and help us here.
How soon do you think we should petition for membership in the United Nations?
Re: “West End house to be
The true story …
The recent article was biased and had inaccurate information in it, so here is what the article did not say.
Back in 2006 the city issued a stop work order because they said Mr. Izzard did not have a building permit, and when he produce the permit, the city made Mr. Izzard remove the roof from his home, and would not allow him to place a new roof back on the home. Then the city issued over $11,000 in citations for the building material in his yard.
And in April 2007 the city called Mr. Izzard to a meeting at city hall, and while he was at the meeting, the city cut the electrical power, pulled the water meter and ordered Mr. Izzard out of the home. That decision was appealed to the construction board of appeals [which is illegal in its make-up]. The board determined that the house was unsafe and needed to be demolished. That decision was appealed to the circuit court.
The lower court ruled that “yes” the house was unsafe, but “no” the house could not be demolished because the house had not been condemned by any legal process. As a result of that ruling a law suit was filed and it is currently before the South Carolina Court of Appeals, the case is expected to be heard early next year.
As a result of the actions of the building official in that case, a complaint was filed with the State LLR, Building Codes Council and as a result of the complaint he surrendered his license to work as a building inspector in the state of South Carolina.
The building has never been condemned. The City passed a new ordinance that allows building that have been legally condemned to be demolished because the building code has a process to condemn a unsafe building but it does not have a process to demolish a condemned building.
The rest of the story….
The statement by Sawyer shows that the city has been planning and trying to get rid of the Mr. Izzard’s house starting 2002 until now and has not followed the law in doing so. The statement from councilwoman Ard about the West End slum lords is so prejudice, deceptive and un-factual until it deserves a response all to itself.
West End residents shouldn’t be drawn away with the wicked on council and the workers of iniquity which speak as though they care about the West End but has mischief in their hearts and care very little if at all about the West End. Some council members are the sons and daughters of perdition. They are the slum lords of falsehood, deception and unrighteousness. Their plan is to force a group of low income land owners on the west end to sell their land to a choice group of developers, making them the blood sucking lords of the West End.
They knew that most of the land owners because of their income could not afford to borrow money to build a rental structure, so they rented the property out to trailer owners, so the council members made their property useless to them by rezoning the area so trailers were not allowed on vacant lots. They said they did it in the name of beautification.
The city and certain council members gives the list of vacant lots and lots the city plans to make vacant by demolishing houses to choice developers, some of the council members got upset with one of the council members because they felt he gave an outside developer the list, a black man from Pawleys Island. The city gave him such a hard time to build I doubt if he will invest in the West End in the future. I must say that the majority of the West End was against the rezoning, they recognize the wolves in sheep clothing.

The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending lowering the legal blood alcohol content limit for drivers from .08 percent to .05 percent. They say it will decrease the number of traffic fatalities. Do you agree with this idea?
