The head of the City of Georgetown’s Building and Planning Department is leaving.
Elizabeth Tucker, who has head the department since 2010, says she is leaving May 18th.
Tucker says her decision is based on her family situation and has nothing to do with the city.
“It will be much easier if I am home with my two kids,” Tucker said Thursday. One of her children is in the 7th grade and the other is 7 years old. “It was a really hard decision. I really enjoy being here but I know I will have my hands full this summer.”
Tucker began as a planner with the county in 2007 before accepting the job with the city three years later.
