Georgetown High senior Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard signed to continue his education and basketball career with Roane State (TN) Community College on Wednesday.

During his career at Georgetown, Gadsden-Gilliard was twice named to the Class AAA All-State team and was a two-time Region Player of the Year.

He averaged 22 points and 14 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs during the 2008-09 season.

Gadsden-Gilliard will redshirt his first year at Roane State. Upon graduation, he will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Roane State is coached by Randy Nesbit, a former coach at the Citadel.

“They made me a great offer,” Gadsden-Gilliard said. “That coach Nesbit was willing to do that shows how much he wanted me to be a part of his program and how much he cares about me as a
person. Having three years of eligibility left will be a big advantage for me.”
