For the first time in six years, Georgetown will not be representing South Carolina in the Dixie Debs World Series.
Georgetown and Dillon tied for second in the state tournament behind Turbeville.
"I had a young team, but they played exceptionally well," Georgetown coach Pat Wildes said. "It was a lot of fun with this team. We had a great time."
Georgetown opened the state tournament by beating Louisville 12-0 and Latta 4-2, and then lost to Turbeville 6-5 in extra innings. The girls bounced back with a 10-0 win over Darlington before losing 12-6 to Dillon.
The leading hitters for Georgetown were Katie Lunsford, Megan Strickland, Blakeley Graham, Chelsea Fulton and Kelly Howard.
Wildes said he appreciated the support from fans, coaches, parents and the community.
