An Andrews woman is pursuing criminal charges against her aunt who allegedly posted photos of her stillborn baby on the Internet.
The 19-year-old woman met with deputies Dec. 14 and said she had a miscarriage earlier this year and she gave her aunt permission to take pictures of the stillborn baby “with the condition that she use the photos for her personal use only,” the report states.
The victim said not long after that she saw the pictures had been posted on her aunt’s webpage and so she called her aunt and asked that they be removed.
The aunt refused that request and said she was given permission to take the pictures and since they belong to her she can do whatever she wants with them.
The victim said she will prosecute, if necessary, to have the pictures taken off the website.
• A 22-year-old Murrells Inlet man and his 40-something year-old father were drinking while they were at a party at T-Bones Dec. 19 and after they left the restaurant, they got into a scuffle. The son said his father “assaulted him for no apparent reason” in the driveway of their Crooked Island Circle home, the report states. The younger man had a “small abrasion on his chin” which was allegedly caused by his father “striking him several times with his hands.”
The father gave a completely different story about what happened. He said his son got mad and blamed him for his inability to have sex with a girl he had met at the party. He said when they got home, his son “began cursing at him” and then hit him on the nose. That caused a fight to break out between the two.
Both men were advised they could sign warrants against each other which did not go over very well with the son. He started cursing at the deputies demanding that they leave him alone and arrest his father. He was warned repeatedly to calm down. He refused and then he balled up his fist as if he were going to attack the deputy, so he was arrested for disorderly conduct. His father was not charged.
• A light was broken and a Coca Cola machine was vandalized at Electronics Etc. on Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island Dec. 11. The complainant said it’s believed the light on the outside of the store was broken by the vandals so they would not be seen breaking into the drink machine. The door of the machine was pried open and the change box was removed. The empty box was recovered near the store.
• A Georgetown County deputy patrolling the area of Ferguson Drive in Pawleys Island at about 10:15 p.m. Dec. 11 said he became suspicious when he saw a vehicle turn on that road. He wrote in his report the car was occupied by “two white females.” He states it was “unusual” for them to be in that area because it “is known for drug activity.”
He made a traffic stop on the car and asked the driver – a 17-year-old – what they were doing. She said she was going to see her boyfriend but did not remember his last name. She then got “irate” about being stopped and the deputy explained his reason for pulling them over.
The officer asked and was granted permission to search the car and found what appeared to be marijuana “scattered about the floorboard.” Both the driver who lives in Garden City and the 18-year-old passenger — a Murrells Inlet resident — were arrested on drug charges.
• Deputies responded to Pee Dee Lane in Murrells Inlet Dec. 16 and met a woman who said she was attacked by her husband who has served time in prison for assault. She said they were in bed and got into an argument and he “jumped at her” so she ran into another room and called 911. She said he has hit her in the past. Her husband was gone when deputies arrived but a warrant was expected to be signed for his arrest.
• A fight broke out at Club Isis in Pawleys Island at about 3 a.m. Dec. 15 after a 28-year-old North Myrtle Beach man bumped into a table where about 15 people were sitting gambling. The man said after he bumped the table he was “punched several times by an unknown person” while others started taking money from his pocket and his watch from his wrist.
Security broke up the altercation and forced everyone outside where the fight started up again. A deputy who happened to be in the parking lot tried to break up the fight by shooting the North Myrtle Beach man with his Taser but it did not work so a Highway Patrolman who was there because of traffic problems used his Taser and the situation calmed down.
During the fight, one of the participants repeatedly yelled something about “843” and was making what appeared to be gang signs.
The club’s security told deputies the fight did not start when a table was bumped. It started because the North Myrtle Beach man was talking to the wife of another man inside the club and her husband got mad about it.
No one involved wanted to press charges.
