Andrews and St. James traded touchdowns for three quarters last week, but the Sharks scored 20 points in the fourth quarter for the 34-21 victory.

"I thought we came out with some enthusiasm and did some good things early," said Andrews coach Steve Blanchard. "It being our first game and their second game, obviously they had more mistakes than they did."

Ethan Wright got Andrews on the board first with a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

After St. James tied the score on a 6-yard run by Allen Crum, Wright hit Monte McCrae from 42 yards out to give Andrews a 14-7 lead.

Two minutes later Sharks quarterback Josh Roper dived into the end zone from 1 yard out to tie the score at 14-14 going into halftime.

St. James tried an onside kick to start the second half, but Andrews recovered and kept the ball for four minutes. The drive was capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by Wright that gave the Yellow Jackets the 21-14 lead.

The Sharks tied the score 15 seconds into the fourth quarter when Bradley Mewhorter recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown. Crum ran it in from 13 yards out for his second touchdown of the game, and Austin Adams finished the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown run with about a minute left in the game.

Andrews has 246 yards of offense and St. James had 216 yards.

Jaleel Filmore was the leading rusher for Andrews with 101 yards.

Wright had 50 rushing yards and 78 passing yards.

McCrae was the leading receiver with 42 yards. Luke Reeves had 20 yards and Filmore had 16.

Quandre Green led the Andrews defense with six tackles, four assists and four sacks. Colton Fulton had seven tackles, three assists and one sack; and Jonathan Grant had five tackles and two assists.

"We still have kids that are not buying into doing the right things every day and this shows up on Friday night," Blanchard said. "We don't do the right things daily then you don't end up with the right storyline at the end of the day."

Andrews (0-1) travels to Georgetown on Friday night.
