Sweet win. That's likely the feeling of members of the Andrews High School girls varsity basketball team as they won in the Lake City Tournament on Monday, Dec. 21.

The Lady Yellow Jackets defeated the Hemingway Mighty Tigers 67 to 48.

But the good feeling didn't last on Wednesday, the final night of the tournament.

Keisha Langley of Andrews had a game-high score of 29 on Monday.

Other Andrews scorers were Ashley Cooper 3; Kharima Buffkin 20; Tyshera Middleton 13; and Jetovia Jackson 2.

For Hemingway, Angela Davis was high scorer at 15 points. Others were Drucilla Frederick 5; Jasmine Scott 13; Keandra Snow 6; Collette Brown 4; Ebony Williams 3; and Shaquille Williams 2.

Even though the Andrews girls won on that Monday, they didn't do so well two days later.

The girls from Grayson, Ga. defeated Andrews 57-35 on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Bears, Bulldogs lose too

That same night, Hemingway won over Carvers Bay 51-24, and Creek Bridge defeated Georgetown by a score of 48-43.

Overall winner of the Lake City Invitational was Marion, as the Swamp Foxes defeated the host Lake City girls by a score of 60-57 over the lady Panthers.
