The National Weather Service says it is almost certain the coastal counties of South Carolina will be impacted by Hurricane Sandy as the storm passes in the Atlantic Ocean.
Although the storm will stay east of the area, it will parallel the coast as it makes its way towards the Northeastern United States.
The Weather Service has now increased the rain chance to 100% Saturday. More than 2 inches of rain is expected.
Winds will pick up on Friday but will be more noticeable Saturday when gusts could reach tropical storm strength.
It will not be a good weekend to go into the ocean as heavy surf and potentially deadly rip currents are expected.
So far, no tropical storm watches or warnings have been issued for South Carolina but that could change.
