Robert Geathers featured on HBO series
By Chris Sokoloski
Robert Geathers Jr. and his Cincinnati Bengals teammates will be featured in the latest installment of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series.
It’s the second time in four years that the Bengals have been featured.
An NFL Films crew will spend the next month with the team, filming practices, players’ and coaches’ meetings, and training sessions and conducting interviews with players and their families at Paul Brown Stadium and at home.
The show debuts on Aug. 6 at 10 p.m., and continues every Tuesday until Sept. 3. Repeat episodes also air on Wednesdays at 11 p.m.
Hard Knocks premiered in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens, followed by the Dallas Cowboys in 2002.
The series resumed in 2007 with the Kansas City Chiefs, followed by the Cowboys in 2008, Bengals in 2009, New York Jets in 2010, and Miami Dolphins in 2012.
Playing in the NFL is a family tradition for Geathers, a Carvers Bay High School graduate. Clifton is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kwame is a rookie with the San Diego Chargers, Robert Sr. played for the Buffalo Bills, and Jumpy played for several teams during a 13-year career.
Geathers wears uniform #91.
