County athletes collect 18 Lower State titles

Georgetown County high school athletes brought home 14 individual titles and four relay titles at Lower State track and field championships on Saturday.
Carvers Bay athletes brought home nine individual titles and four relay titles.
Lewis Morant won the 100-meters and 200-meters; Davin Young won the 110-meter hurdles; Desmond Sumpter won the long jump and triple jump; Jasmine Cobb won the 800-meters and 1,600-meters; Myesha Hannah won the 100-meter hurdles; Desaree Green won the high jump; Morant, Raheem Deas, Akeem Lewis and Josh Bolden won the 4x100; Morant, Lewis, Bolden and Demasio Timmons won the 4x400; Tiera Young, Amber Linnen, Green and Cobb won the 4x400; Young, Cobb, Ijani Haynes and Taleaa Adams won the 4x800.
Young was also second in 400-meter hurdles and seventh in triple jump; Haynes was second in 3,200-meters and third in 1,600-meters; Lewis was second in 400-meters, sixth in 200-meters; Adams was third in 3,200-meters; Hannah was third in 100-meters and long jump, fifth in triple jump; Green was fourth in long jump; Deas was seventh in 200-meters; Timmons, Bolden, Xavier Drayton and Joseph Brown were third in 4x800.
Also finishing in the top four and qualifying for the state meet were: Brown, third in 800-meters and 1,600-meters; Drayton, third in 3,200-meters; Tyrell Richard, third in 400-meters; Leon Harvey, third in high jump; Aaliyah Linen, third in triple jump; Amber Linnen, fourth in 400-meters; Naquez Pringle, fourth in shot put; Angel Holmes, fourth in 200-meters; and Tiera Young, fourth in 1,600-meters.
Other Carvers Bay Lower State results: Holmes, Green, Amber Linnen and Moniesha Orange, fifth in 4x100; Travell Grate, fifth in 110-meter hurdles; Tyesha Wilson, fifth in 100-meter hurdles; Harvey, sixth in triple jump; Holmes, sixth in 100-meters; Pringle, eighth in discus; Mirakle Cooper, eighth in 3,200-meters; Drayton, 10th in 1,600-meters; Adams, 10th in 1,600-meters; Amber Linnen, 11th in long jump; Tiera Young, 11th in 800-meters; Wilson, 11th in 400-meter hurdles; Paul Robinson, ninth in shot put; Alexis Lewis, ninth in 800-meters; Amber Brown, ninth in shot put, 13th in discus; Shanieka Lewis, 10th in shot put; O’Neal Johnson, 11th in shot put, 12th in discus; Andrea Seward, 11th in 3,200-meters; and Tierra Coles, 14th in shot put.
Waccamaw High athletes brought home five individual titles.
Grace Barnett won the the 800-meters, 1,600-meters and 3,200-meters; Jamaica Alston won the 200-meters; and D’Etta Green won the high jump.
Alston was second in 100-meters, and Green was ninth in 100-meters hurdles and 11th in 400-meter hurdles.
Also finishing in the top four at Lower State and qualifying for the state meet were: Robert Jones, second in 1,600-meters; J.J. Sherman, third in 400-meters and fourth in 200-meters; Amelia Jones, fourth in 3,200-meters; Briley Arnold, fourth in 400-meter hurdles; and Kristina Chandler, Arnold, Jones and Barnett, third in 4x800.
Other Waccamaw Lower State results: Robert Jones, fifth in 800-meters; Amelia Jones, fifth in 1,600-meters; Chandler, sixth in 400-meters and seventh in 800-meters; LeAnn Thompson, sixth in shot put; Mackenzie Arnold, seventh in 1,600-meters and eighth in 800-meters; Mary Despain, seventh in 3,200-meters and eighth in 1,600-meters; Declyn Drejza, eighth in 400-meter hurdles; Arnold, ninth in 3,200-meters; Gasque, ninth in 200-meters; Michael Dear, 10th in 800-meters; Ciara Parker, 10th in discus; Adam Paquette, 12th in 1,600-meters and 3,200-meters; Michael Siembida, 13th in 400-meters; Raven Brooks, 14th in long jump and triple jump; Sherman, Jones, Kevin Gasque and Alani Scott, fifth in 4x400; Arnold, Green, Alston and Chandler, fifth 4x400; and Paquette, Dear, Nate Fata and Boyd Brown, 10th in 4x800.
Waccamaw’s girls finished second in the team competition, 29.75 points behind Bishop England. The boys finished eighth.
Two Andrews High athletes will compete for individual state titles, as well as one relay teams.
Jaleel Filmore was second in 110-meters hurdles; Christina Wragg was fourth in 400-meters; and Wragg, Ni’Asha Dorsey, Tanaze Clark and Tionne White were second in 4x400.
Other Andrews Lower State results: Tionne White, fifth in 100-meters; Filmore, sixth in 100-meters and eighth in 400-meters hurdles; Antonio McCutchinson, sixth in high jump; Tyrone White II, Jaqwon Wright, Carlos Smalls and McCutchinson, eighth in 4x400; White II, 10th in 200-meters; Clark, 10th in 200-meters; Wright, 11th in 40-meters; Dorsey, 11th in 400-meters; Kalen Hudson, 13th in shot put; Fayta White, 13th in 800-meters; and White, Wright, Smalls and McCutchinson, 12th in 4x100.
The girls finished 12th and the boys finished 13th in the team competitions.
Derrick Hannah, who was fourth in 400-meters, was the only Georgetown High athlete to qualify for the state championship.
Other Georgetown Lower State results: Qunazia Gardner, eighth in 100-meter hurdles; Danielle Richardson, ninth in long jump, 14th in 100-meters and 18th in 200-meters; Gardner, Richardson, Alexis Grove and Alisha Smith, 10th in 4x100; Zahir Thomas, 13th in 200-meters and 14th in 100-meters; Grove, 16th in long jump; Eric Techer, 23rd in 110-meter hurdles; and Hannah, 27th in 100-meters.
