Mike Eady shows his catch while fishing from his kayak.

Mike Eady caught a trout and redfish last week while in his kayak in the waters of Pawleys Island. He was fishing with one of his buddies from Charleston.

"We both fish in the IFA Redfish Tour kayak series. We have an event coming up the end of September out of Georgetown."

Eady, a Pawleys Island native, is the kayak fishing guide for Black River Outdoors. He has a 100 percent catch rate for his customers.

"Any time you do things the old way makes it special," Eady said. "Kayak fishing gets you very close to the fish and you get a sense of achievement when you paddle out and can catch fish."
