Officials needed for high school football games
The start of the high school football season may be months away, but training for new officials starts in a few weeks.
District 11, which supplies officials for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties, is hosting a registration event and cookout on Saturday at the Forestbrook Clubhouse in Myrtle Beach.
Training begins April 15 and continues every Monday until July 27, just in time for the beginning of high school footbll practice. The majority of training sessions take place at the Myrtle Beach Police Annex.
Prior officiating experience is not required.
Applications are available at www.scfoa11.com. A physical exam by a physician is required.
The website also contains information on state and local dues, equipment costs, and compensation.
