Georgetown 8, Andrews 6
Carvers Bay 26, Waccamaw 14
Georgetown High School won its first game under new head football coach Bradley Adams Friday night.
Score of the game was Georgetown 8, Andrews 6.
The Bulldogs took the lead early and held it through half-time. The Andrews Yellow Jackets made their own touchdown in the second half, but weren't able to overcome the Bulldogs in their first home game at Tommy Smith Stadium under Adams' direction.
Over at Carvers Bay, the Bears were threatened by the Waccamaw Warriors but held off a late-period rally and ended up with a convincing win, 26-14 over the Pawleys Island team.
"Sometimes we are our own worst enemy," Carvers Bay coach Nate Thompson said.
There were turnovers and other mistakes, but he credited the kids for working hard.
