The Georgetown High boys' and girls' tennis teams held their fifth annual Tennis social on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Wedgefield Plantation tennis courts.
This event brought more than 100 players from the community to enjoy a fun day of tennis with the team.
Community members made donations to the team to help them purchase uniforms and other needed supplies for the fall and spring season. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the cook-out, door prizes, match play and tennis games.
A representative from Martin's PGA Tour Superstore in Myrtle Beach brought tennis racquets for players to try out.
The tennis coaches at Georgetown High, Adam and Grace George, believe this annual event has been a great way to build the tennis community and get more people interested in the sport.
This is an annual event held on the first Saturday after the start of the Georgetown County school year.
The Georgetown High girls' tennis team will open the season Sept. 13 at Carolina Forest.
