Huh?
Reading that headline, people not familiar with the word will likely scratch their heads.
"Futsal" is indoor soccer, mini-soccer or five-a-side soccer.
The Georgetown Soccer Club is hosting the Futsal tournament in Andrews at the Andrews Recreation Gym, 209 South Maple St.
Cost is $15 per player.
Registration will be from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, the day of the tournament. No players can be added after the registration ends.
Concessions will be available.
Shane Maglich, club manager, said "This is a great way of finishing out the year for Georgetown soccer club."
The tournament players will be divided into two age groups: age 11-14 and age 15-19.
Teams should be at least 7 players with a maximum of 10.
Rules are per U.S. Futsal Federation and may be found on their Web site: www.futsal.com.
Games are two 12-minute halves with 2 minutes half times.
Players must complete a U.S. Futsal Registration form which must be signed with permission to play and for medical release, Maglich said.
Forms will be available on location or at georgetownsoccerclub.org, look for GSC Forms tab.
You may also find the form at www.futsal.com, look for publication tab on the left and then click on Youth Player Registration form.
