Andrews loses to St. James
Andrews High School’s baseball team could only manage two hits in a 10-0 loss to St. James on Wednesday night.
The Sharks scored four runs in the first inning, one in the second, three in the fourth and one in the sixth to end the game.
Joseph Altman and Rivers Cribb had the only Andrews hits.
The Yellow Jackets committed two errors, struck out eight times, and left seven runners on base.
Cribb started, and gave up one hit, four walks and four earned runs. Daniel Duncan gave up six hits, four runs, one walk and struck out one. Altman finished the game, gave up three hits and three walks and struck out three.
It was Andrews’ fourth game in three days.
“We’ve just got the find a way to be competitive,” coach Roland Clemons said.
The Yellow Jackets spent part of their spring break last week competing at the Ripken Experience, where they went 1-2.
“We could have done better,” Clemons said. “We played some good quality teams. Got some good experience ... some good work.”
Andrews is in second place in Region VII-AA, one game behind Lake City. The Yellow Jackets host the Panthers on April 19.
