The 10u Carolina Express placed first this past weekend in Sumter.
At ISA's Bring It & Swing It two-day tournament, the 10u Carolina Express won 1st place out of 13 teams. This was their 6th tournament this year and their third 1st place finish.
This team has finished in 3rd place or higher in all of their tournaments.
The team is made up of girls from Georgetown and Andrews, ranging in ages from 9 to 11.
The girls went undefeated up until the Championship game. They won 3 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday to put them into the Championship game.
They faced the S.C. X-Treme out of Summerville, SC, a team that had one loss in the tournament (from the Carolina Express).
Because the Express was undefeated the X-Treme had to beat them twice to knock them out of 1st place. The Express lost the first game but came back to win the second game 3-2 and to win the tournament.
Because of rain delays and the "if" game, the Express started the "if" game at 8 p.m. Sunday night.
They were given the option to play a shortened game (international tie breaker), forfeit (taking 2nd place) or play until 10 p.m. for the win.
Every girl wanted to win and they did. They truly love the game.
