Walter Wilkins.Maurice Russell Small, age 23, and Elysia Nicole Nolan, age 20, robbed GKCU on May 21. The next day they robbed Citizen’s Bank in Florence and on June 2 it was Anderson Brother’s Bank in Loris. They were arrested on June 2 and released on bond. A DSS worker said a 3-year-old boy now in foster care said he was abused by his father. The toddler says when he cried or would not go to sleep his dad would beat him on his back, butt and back of the legs. If he would hide under his covers, his dad would drag him out by the throat and beat him, the report states. Sheriff’s Office• A 25-year-old Pawleys Island man suffered minor injuries after an altercation with his stepfather concerning alcohol. The teen told a deputy his grandmother told him to put wood in the fireplace Nov. 19 and when she came out of her room and saw the door on the fireplace was open, she got very upset. She allegedly started choking him and then used the fireplace ash shovel to hit him on the face and body. He was also reportedly hit on the legs and arms with the fireplace poker. A 31-year-old man said he was stabbed in the chest by an unknown person. The man said when he arrived home, he opened his front door and the stranger who was waiting inside stabbed him. He told deputies he was unsure if the attacker was male or female. The man first said he thought his girlfriend may have stabbed him because they had been arguing but later said he was mistaken. Deputies talked to the man's girlfriend. She said when they woke up her boyfriend told her he thought there was someone in the house so he told her to leave. According to a female clerk who was on duty, the suspect -- described as being 16-18 years old -- walked in the store at about 8 p.m. Sunday and asked about the price of a cigar. He then pulled out a silver handgun and said "give me all the money." The woman opened the cash drawer. The teen told her to make sure she lifted the money tray and gave him any cash that may have been stored underneath. The robber then reached over and grabbed the money and stuffed it in his pocket and fled out the door. Helenia Dawn Jacobs was arrested in February after she left her 12-year-old daughter at home to take care of her siblings, ages 8, 5 and 1. During that time, the youngest child was left unattended and turned on the bathtub, causing the bathroom to flood, according to Assistant Solicitor Dorie Biagianti, who prosecuted the case. The water caused electricity problems in that part of the house. When Jacobs returned home, she started to "yell and curse" at the 12-year-old for not watching her sibling, Biagianti said. According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred Oct. 23 when a 14-year-old male student would not stop talking after he was asked to do so by his teacher Rhonda Britton. The teen said Britton “got angry and threw a candle at him and hit him in his face,” the report states. The deputy who responded to the classroom said he observed some swelling on the face of the teen. The woman said she took her baby to a different daycare and talked to an employee there who used to work with the woman from Pawleys Island.
