Continuing to watch the low pressure system off our coast that has become better organized today and has the possibility of becoming the year’s first tropical storm. It would be named Alberto if winds reach a sustained 39 mph or higher.
No matter what happens with the system, the National Weather Service says it will have “little impact” on our weather tonight, therefore the rain chances are very slim.
What happens starting tomorrow afternoon is still somewhat uncertain since it all depends on what happens with the system that could become Alberto.
The NWS says the Grand Strand has a better chance than the rest of the state of seeing rain and wind from the system — mainly Sunday night and Monday.
Rip currents are already a threat and that danger will continue at least through Monday, as it looks now.
