Georgetown High homecoming Friday

Georgetown High School will celeberate homecoming Friday with a parade on Front Street, a football game against St. James High and the crowning of a new queen.

Alma White, Georgetown County clerk of court, will be grand marshal of the homecoming parade, beginning at 4 p.m. at East Bay Park.

Among the entries will be the Georgetown High Marching Band, Principal Dr. Michael Cafaro and the 14 homecoming queen contestants and representatives from various GHS clubs and organizations, including:

* Stephanie Drayton, sponsored by Gary Sessions;

* Kristina Evans, sponsored by Gary Huneault;

* Nichole Gilliyard, sponsored by Jason Johnson;

* Chelsea Grate, sponsored by Justin Davis;

* Ceria Greene, sponsored by Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard;

* Quesha Greene, sponsored by Michael Cuttino;

* Kaswania Keith, sponsored by Jacob Walters;

* Brittany Kennedy, sponsored by Stephon Leak;

* Rashea Kinlock, sponsored by Albert Beach;

* Chelsie Singletary, sponsored by Ron Ward;

* Janasha Smith, sponsored by Malik Bey;

* Kelsey Waniger, sponsored by Ryan Pitts;

* Shantelle White, sponsored by Sedric Jenkins.

The football game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Tommy Smith Stadium. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $6.
