Four masked men accused of a violent home invasion in Pawleys Island are still on the run.
Two brothers — ages 17 and 18 — were in their home on Wassamassaw Trail playing a video game at about 10:20 p.m. Monday when the suspects, armed with a handgun, burst through the front door, according to an incident report.
The younger man thought it was one of his friends, so he ignored it until one of the men who was wearing a bandana over his face told him to “get down.”
The masked man then pushed the 17-year-old against a wall and held him there while asking where the money was located.
While this was happening the victim could hear his brother in another room “begging not to be shot or killed,” the report states.
Both victims were led to their parents bedroom while the gunmen started searching through dressers and closets.
After asking once again where the money was and being told “I don’t know” by the 17-year-old, one of the men hit him on the eye while the others started to run away.
One of the men, the younger victim said, was wearing a “wifebeater” T-shirt over his face.
Both brothers suffered minor lacerations during the incident.
When asked to give his version of events, the older brother said he was about to go to bed when he heard someone at the door, so he opened it.
When he saw who was there, he tried to close the door but they forced their way in while holding a pistol to the back of his head.
He said they took his wallet which contained $60 in cash.
While being interviewed, the brothers were asked if they had “any issues with anyone recently.”
The older brother told his younger sibling “not to snitch,” the report states.
The area was searched but the suspects have not been found.
