A woman who was spotted by a deputy walking in the area of Brookgreen Gardens on the night of Jan. 9, said she was assaulted by her boyfriend and forced from their car.
The 32-year-old woman had blood on her face and clothing.
She said after she and her 38-year-old boyfriend left a Murrells Inlet club, they got into an argument.
The man allegedly punched her in the face and told her to get out of the car.
Georgetown police found the man and his vehicle at a gas station in the city limits.
He said both he and his girlfriend assaulted each other.
The man said he just wanted to go home and did not want to prosecute.
They were both advised to see a magistrate if they wanted to take legal action.
Fire and arrest
While on the scene of a house fire in the Plantersville area early Sunday, firefighters were having trouble with the homeowner who refused to obey their orders not to enter the home.
The man was allegedly intoxicated and was loud as he was arguing with his brother.
He was charged with breach of peace and was transported to jail.
Possible con
Leaders at the Lighhouse of Jesus Christ met with deputies to file a report because they were concerned about a man who visited their church Sunday night.
The leaders said the 61-year-old man in a wheelchair claims he fell in the bathroom because, he said, the floor was wet.
However, according to the complainant, the man’s clothes were dry.
He complained of head, shoulder and back pain but refused to be taken to the hospital when EMS arrived.
A few minutes after EMS left, another church member saw the man wheel himself to a different bathroom. He then got up out of his wheelchair and walked in the bathroom.
When he finished, he got back in the wheelchair.
Later in the evening, EMS was called to the church again because a woman was having blood pressure problems.
While the medics were at the church that time, the wheelchair man slumped over and wanted to be taken to the hospital, which he was.
The church wanted a report on file just in case the man tries to take some sort of legal action.
Threats from sister
A 26-year-old Pleasant Hill area woman is accused of threatening her 28-year-old brother January 8.
The woman reportedly told her brother she would walk in his bedroom when he goes to sleep and cut his throat.
The man said he is fearful she will try to make good on the threat.
Meat swindlers
A Georgetown woman said she was visited Jan. 8 by two men selling meat from a freezer in the back of their truck.
The woman said she purchased $130 worth of meat and paid in cash. She said she placed the meat in her freezer as the men drove away.
They returned a few minutes later and said they accidentally left some extra meat in the freezer.
They walked in the house and removed two packages of steaks and walked back to their truck. The woman said the steaks were part of her purchase so she tried to stop them but they sped away.
Hammer-wielding dad
A Sampit community man called 911 Sunday night when his 61-year-old wheelchair-bound father started chasing him around the house with a hammer.
The man said his father was intoxicated.
The older man told deputies his son was not supposed to be there and refused to leave.
The younger man said he had no where else to go.
His father was charged with simple assault but was not taken to jail. He was issued a summons and must appear in court.
