Deputies were patrolling Cherry Hill Country Club in Andrews at about 1 a.m. Saturday because of a Halloween party with underage drinking.
When the officers drove into the parking lot, “many individuals quickly began making their way away from the parking area towards the woodline,” the report states. There was “a strong odor of burned marijuana in the air.”
One 17-year-old female — wearing a police uniform costume complete with badge, whistle and hat — was seen drinking beer and walking towards the clubhouse.
She was recognized because deputies dealt with her the previous day in the Rose Hill area.
In that case she was also found to be drinking and in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
For that incident, she was warned and released to her father.
On Saturday, she was not given a warning but was arrested and was taken to jail.
Match.com harasser
A 37-year-old Pawleys Island woman said she is being harassed by a man she met on match.com.
She said she and the man have been communicating via texts, emails and online and were supposed to meet in person Oct. 10. The woman said she began having second thoughts and on Oct. 9 she called off the date.
The next day the man began sending her text messages calling her names such as liar and nut job.
She told him if he did not stop harassing her, she would call police.
He responded by reminding her he knows where she works which caused the woman to become fearful for her safety.
She said she wanted the incidents documented in case she has additional problems with the man.
Officer spat upon
A 46-year-old inmate at the Georgetown County Detention Center was hit with additional charges after spitting on a corrections officer Oct. 13.
The officer was serving food when the inmate tried to grab him.
The officer was able to dodge the grab attempt.
That is when the suspect spit on his arm.
Suspicious fire
Firefighters called deputies to a car fire on the dirt portion of Frank Cribb Road in the Pleasant Hill area Oct. 20.
The Chevrolet pickup was completely burnt and so no vehicle identification number was available.
Dead dog on leash
Deputies were sent to the 100 block of Harold Drive Oct. 19 because of a deceased dog on a leash at a vacant home.
A few days earlier, a deputy found out the dog’s owners were being evicted.
The owners were told the dog could stay there as long as it was cared for but had to be removed once they were officially out of the house.
A neighbor who called 911 thought the dog had starved to death but it was later learned it may have been killed by another dog.
The owner returned and buried the pit bull.
No charges were filed.
Stolen boat
A man from the 200 block of True Blue Drive in Pawleys Island said someone stole his boat and trailer — valued at more than $5,000 — sometime between Oct. 23 and 26.
He said the boat and trailer had been in his front yard.
