A 51-year-old man is accused of damaging the vehicle of a 33-year-old Georgetown man at Sara’s Nightlife in Andrews July 7.
The Andrews resident got mad when he was told it is a private club and he would have to pay a membership fee.
As the man was storming out, he saw a female employee in the parking lot and he offered to take her home. When she refused he said he was going to find some strippers.
He then jumped in his car and as he was leaving he spun up rocks. One of the rocks broke a window on the victim’s vehicle.
Deputies did find the man and he was arrested for damage to property.
WalMart worker assaulted
A 37-year-old female worker at the Garden City WalMart was assaulted as she was trying to detain three male shoplifters July 8.
According to the Horry County Police Department, the woman said the three men — all in their late teens — walked in the store and picked up three cases of beer. They then walked out of the store without paying.
As the worker approached the men in the parking lot, they were getting into a car but she took the beer from them.
That’s when one of the men shoved her in the chest and knocked her on the ground, the report states.
Another man grabbed her cell phone and broke it by throwing it across the parking lot.
The men then grabbed two of the three cases of beer and put them in the car but several cans fell out of the car as they drove away.
The area was searched but the suspects were not located.
This was the second time the worker was assaulted.
On July 2, she saw a 43-year-old Myrtle Beach man stealing two XBox 360 games. As the man was walking out the store, the worker tried to stop him but he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed her so he would not be caught.
The man then fled on foot and was not found by police.
In broad daylight
A 40-year-old Surfside Beach man said the catalytic converter was removed from his vehicle.
The theft occurred while the truck was parked at the Garden City WalMart at about 11:30 a.m. July 2.
Surveillance camera video shows someone loading the converter into a Nissan truck.
“A suspect description could not be made out,” the report states.
Nightclub brawl
Horry County police were rushed to a nightclub in the 200 block of Atlantic Ave. in Garden City July 4th because of a fight involving a large group of people.
Police arrived and saw 20-30 people near the entrance of the bar and a 26-year-old Florence man on the ground.
The man — identified by police as a suspect — was transported to the hospital for treatment.
A witness told police the suspect and another person were “challenging the bouncers to fight” while trying to enter the bar.
That resulted in several people getting into a fight. The suspect was hit in the face multiple times.
Police tried to talk to another witness but he was too drunk to provide any details about what he saw.
Because no one wanted to press charges, the case has been administratively closed.
Food stamp EBT
card stolen
A 31-year-old Andrews man says his food stamp EBT card was stolen from the home of a friend while he was in jail.
He said the card had about $160 left on it at the time of his arrest.
The man said he was at the friend’s house on Buster Taylor Drive when he was arrested and he left the wallet on a dryer.
A witness told the victim she had seen his friend using the card.
He knew the PIN number because it was written on the back of the card.
The case was turned over to Andrews police since the theft occurred within the town limits.
