Eleanor Rutledge

 

Eleanor I. Rutledge, 62, generally known as Tammy, of Pawleys Island, S.C. died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Tidelands Community Hospice in Georgetown, S.C. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. John AME Church, Pawleys Island. 

Family visitation was held at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, September 28, 2012 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Mrs. Rutledge was born August 7, 1950 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Clarence Cuddy and Margaret Hunt Cuddy. 

Her secular education was obtained in the Bronx, N.Y. county schools, she graduated with a bachelors degree in Psychology from Mercy College, N.Y. and earned a Masters degree from Lehman College, Bronx, N.Y. in Family School Counseling and Psychology.

She worked as a Guidance Counselor at McDonald Elementary School; organized and directed a mentoring program called “The Young Leaders” and in her spare time the “Tax Lady” filed tax reports for several constituents.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Rutledge of Pawleys Island; two sons, Jorge Maldonado of Orlando, Fla. and Mark Maldonado of Springfield, Va.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Trumell Rutledge and Lynn Rutledge of Pawleys Island and Melvin Rutledge Jr. of Fort Polk, La.; one sister, Margaret Shenowski of Missouri; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Fred Taraschi

Fred Taraschi, age 54, devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son of Pawleys Island, S.C.  passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, S.C.

Mr. Taraschi was a remarkable husband to Soo Taraschi.  

He was a member of Pawleys Island Community Church and owner of Havana Cabana of Pawleys Island.

Born in Toronto, Canada he was the son to the late Arrigo Taraschi and Liliana Taraschi.

He was God's gift to all of us. His sense of humor and generosity will be remembered by everyone with whom he came in contact.

Fred was the beloved second father to Chris Kirtley and James Kirtley. He was grandfather to Bret Kirtley and the late Christen Kirtley. He is survived by his siblings Pino Taraschi and wife Lorraine, Rico Taraschi and wife Antonella and Maria Rizzuto and husband Pino. Mr. Taraschi was uncle to Alicea and Jessica Taraschi, and Joseph, David and Liana Rizzuto.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Pawleys Island Community Church with Pastor Don Williams officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Litchfield/Pawleys Chapel.
