Lucy Clark
Lucy Rose Clark, 2, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C.
Born on September 24, 2009 in Mt. Pleasant, Lucy was a daughter of Nicholas Clark and Sheila Hendley.
Survivors include her mother and father of Georgetown; maternal grandfather, Ronnie Howard of Georgetown; paternal grandparents, Nicole and Jim Lee of Georgetown; maternal great-grandparents, L.C. and Kitty Howard of Georgetown; paternal great grandparents, Richard and Doris Jacobs of Georgetown, Calvin and Joyce Lee of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. and Carolyn Sturgess of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two aunts, Savannah Lee and Michelle Brown of Georgetown; two uncles, Hunter Lee and William Brown of Georgetown; and a number of great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lucy Howard; and paternal grandfather, Burney Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, at United Christian Outreach with the Rev. Timothy Crabtree officiating. Burial will be private.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at United Christian Outreach.

Luther Forbes
Luther John Forbes, 87, the beloved husband of Ruth Ray Forbes of Andrews, went home to be with the Lord and join his waiting loved ones on Saturday evening, March 17, 2012, at the Tidelands Community Hospice House surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Forbes was born a son of Clarence Washington Forbes and Lou Cynthia Wall Forbes on April 29, 1924, in Georgetown.
He was retired pulp mill operator of International Paper Company, Georgetown Mill and member of the Quarter Century Club.
He was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church since 1980.
He was a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, and cherished brother; a man of solid character and firm moral standards who leaves a legacy trustworthy and true.
Luther and Ruth were married October 19, 1945, and celebrated 66 years together. From their blessed union were five children, Bill (Robbie) Forbes, Barbara F. Ackerman, Larry (Jackie) Forbes, Wayne (Mona) Forbes, and Debbie (Chris) Olson; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He bids farewell to a son-in-law, Rev. Lloyd (Alice) Ackerman; one brother, Simon (Thelma) Forbes; extended family, Dan (Betty) Ray, Bob Ray, Frank (Jenny) Ray, Betty R. Goodwin, Elizabeth Johnson, and Annie Mae Pugh; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
He joins his waiting Heavenly family: his parents; his wife; his daughter, Barbara; his daughter-in-law, Helen W. Forbes; three brothers, Tony Forbes, Jim Forbes, and Hammy Forbes; one sister, Ola F. Johnson; his extended family, David and Bela Ray, Don and Iva Nell Ray, JD and Hazel Ray, Lethan Ray, and Adrea and Harry Fulton.
A Home Going Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening, March 19, 2012, in the sanctuary of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Roger Jacobs
Roger Edward Jacobs, 69, husband of Joyce Dusenbury Jacobs, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born on September 12, 1942, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Roland Mervin Jacobs and the late Marselle Hildebrand Jacobs.
Mr. Jacobs attended Eastside Free Will Baptist Church and retired from International Paper Company after 41 years of service.
He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Snowmill “Jacobs” Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three daughters, Karen J. Reynolds (Mark) of Marion, Debbie J. Lambert (Curtis) of Georgetown and Cathy J. Harvey (Joe) of Yorktown, Va.; and eight grandchildren, Matthew Reynolds, Kristin Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Lucas Reynolds, Ethan Lambert, Elliott Lambert, Jimmy Harvey and Jonathan Harvey.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Edward Harvey; and a brother, Jimmy Jacobs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Eastside Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Haselden officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hucksfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Graham Funeral Home.

Margaret Martin
Margaret M. Martin, 87, wife of the late Doley V. Martin of the North Litchfield Community, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at National Healthcare.
Born in Beech Grove, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Bertha Kuntz.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, LeighAnn Wheeler.
Survivors include grandchildren, Marty Wheeler and Katie Wheeler both of Pawleys Island; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and a sister in law, Betty Kuntz of Indianapolis, Ind.
Services will be private at a later date.

Richard Turner
Richard Kencie Turner, 70, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 17, 2012, after an iron-willed struggle against a stroke that occurred October 2011. He returned to his Heavenly Father with open arms.
Born August 25, 1941, in Florence, S.C., he was the son of a hard working farming family.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Aubrey L. Turner; mother, Dorothy Ayers Turner Calhoun; and brother, Aubrey Landon Turner.
In the mid 70’s Richard purchased the Vancouver Motel in Myrtle Beach.
His family had close ties to the beach and his grandfather built Kings Highway as we know it today.
Richard loved his businesses and made many close friends as the proprietor of over 30 years.
Success to him was loving what he did and bringing joy to others.
Richard was an excellent and truly talented golfer.
He would always say, “If you really want to get to know a person, spend four hours on the golf course with them.”
When the game was “on” and his name was mentioned, his competitors shuttered and his partners rejoiced! (You know who you are!)
Always a smile on his face and a friendly hand extended, whatever side you were on, you were all his true friends. He made the world a better place.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy Lynn Turner of Pawleys Island; his children, DeAna and Dr. Jamie Duffy of Murrells Inlet, Tracy and Christie Turner of Myrtle Beach; Heidi Geiger of Florence, Heather Covington Rose and Terrell and Elizabeth Covington of Greenville; his grandchildren, Savannah and Dylan Keels, Daniel and Andrew Geiger, Nicholas and Nathaniel Turner, Jackson and Max Rose.

Theodore “T.D.” Walters
Theodore Dehone “T.D.” Walters, 82, the beloved husband of Delores Jacqueline “Jackie” Blakely Walters of Andrews, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, March 15, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Walters was born the son of Harry Dehone Walters and Myrtle Ruth Flowers Walters on April 8, 1929 in Williamsburg County.
He was retired from Rappahannock Wire and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
T.D and Jackie were married on March 23, 1951 and celebrated 60 years together. Their family was blessed with two children, Ken (Gail) Walters, and Karen (Ricky) Thomas; five grandchildren, Christian (Laura) Walters, Allison (William) Newton, Blake Walters, Lindsay Thomas, and Kathryn Walters; and one great-grandchild, Elliott Walters.
He also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara Dell Hurst and Harriett (Elwood) Powell; two brothers, Douglas (Lynn) Walters and Harry “Boodie” (Nadine) Walters; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Raymond Lee Walters; a granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Thomas; and a nephew, Harry Glenn Walters.
A Service of Death and Resurrection with Military Honors was held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The Walters family received family and friends at a reception honoring Mr. Walters immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
A Committal Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
