Joan E. Groff, 58, Murrells Inlet

Timothy A. Capps

Timothy Andrew Capps, age 43 of Freewoods Road, Myrtle Beach, and formerly of Charleston, IN died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Berkeley County due to results of an automobile accident.

Born in Jeffersonville, IN, he was the son of Doris P. Capps and the late Omer Waverly Capps. Mr. Capps was a construction heavy machine operator. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Myrtle Beach are his wife, Sabrina Jones; sons, Christopher Capps and Michael Jones and daughter, Alyssa Capps all of Myrtle Beach; grandmother, Beatrice Capps of Georgetown; brothers, Kenneth Capps and wife Leslie and Bradley Capps and wife Janet all of Myrtle Beach; sister, Cynthia O'Neill and husband Timothy of Myrtle Beach and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Ray Carlo officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.

Agnes King

Agnes King, 87, of Georgetown died on Monday, June 1, 2009 in Philadelphia, PA.

Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Bethel AME Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. King was born December 15, 1921 in Georgetown, SC to Mrs. Laura Alston Nelson and Mr. Joe Nelson. She attended Georgetown County Public Schools, Allen University, Columbia, SC and the Teachers College at Columbia University, Philadelphia, PA. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Bethel AME Church.

Mrs. King is survived by: her children: Bruce King of Columbia, SC and Muriel King of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Laura Slade of Philadelphia, PA; and three granddaughters.

Viewing will be held 6 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Lena B. Lloyd

Lena Bell Lloyd, 78, of Georgetown died on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Tidelands Community Hospice.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lloyd will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lloyd was born June 29, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL to Mrs. Eva Brown Ruffin and Oddie Ruffin. She attended the Public Schools of Florida and worked as a housekeeper. She was also a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by four daughters: Mary Doiley, Patricia Lloyd and Carrie Lloyd of Georgetown, SC, and Cynthia Lloyd of Columbia, SC; two sons: Elder Walter H. Lloyd of Rochester, NY and Timmy Lloyd of Georgetown, SC; a grandson reared as a son, Kedrick Lloyd of Columbia, SC; a sister, Gwendolyn Simmons of Georgetown, SC; 7 additional grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Howard L. Myers

Howard Lee Myers, 50 of Pawleys Island, SC died on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Myers will be held 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Mr. Myers was born October 21, 1958 in Burgess, SC to Mrs. Mary Chestnut Myers and Albert Myers.

He attended Horry County Public Schools and worked as a heavy equipment operator with R.H. Moore Construction Co.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Esther Myers of Pawleys Island, SC; his son: Jermaine Livingston of Loris, SC; his brother, Louis Myers of Burgess, SC; three sisters: Priscilla Deas of Burgess, SC, Angela Myers of Florida and Darlene Gary of Chester, VA.
